Well hello, and thanks for stopping by. If you've found this place, then you probably have a good idea of who I am already. Chances are good that we've met in real life and you've heard me talking. Or maybe you knew me in the past, haven't seen me in a while, and are wondering what's going on. Perhaps you just heard that I was a bit nuts and are wondering, "hey, what makes that guy tick?" (it's a nervous condition, ok? Kidding!) Well, that's kind of what this is going to be. A place for me to post whatever is on my heart and mind at the moment. And I expect it to be a wide variety of things based on my interests, interactions, and what's going on. What might those be? I'm happy you asked! Here's a possible overview of some of the random things you might come across in my blogs:
Genealogy and family history- I've been working on the family tree and it's history for a couple of years now, and it's growing. Sometimes I find some rather interesting things and might drop a blurb. Since I don't get a lot of time to work on the tree this probably won't happen often, but it may pop up here and there.
Sports- I'm a big NASCAR fan (go Jeff Gordon!) and NFL fan (49er's!), so if something interesting happens that may well pop into the blog. Such as the race at Texas this last weekend. Talk about a mess of happenings with changes in the point leaders, pit crews, people fighting, and all sorts of stuff. A bit of a mind blower on Sunday.
Politics- I'll put it right out there- I'm a conservative, big time. I'm not ultra right libertarian, but I'm closer to that view than I am to the liberal one. However I do listen, read, and hear both sides and like to keep up. When things happen there's a good chance that I might drop in some comments and heart felt opinions. It's ok to disagree with me, and say so, just as long as you know that I'm right. :) (It's a joke, laugh!)
Christianity- If somehow you missed it, I'm a minister. Currently I'm an associate pastor at a church, and we're getting ready to move out and start a new church soon. If you know anything about minister's, then you know we usually have something to say. This will likely be the biggest area I post in on the blog, and it can be fairly wide ranging. I'll talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly- and we've got it all in the Church and among those that claim to be members (just saying you're a Christian doesn't make you one, but that's a whole blog in itself!) Sometimes it'll be an uplifting comment or story, sometimes it'll be something meant to make you think, other times it'll be meant to make you change. Whatever it is, I'm always open to comments (in good taste, of course)
Church planting- seeing as how we're hoping to get a new church started soon, I will likely be posting a number of times about where we are, what we're doing, what's going well, what's not going well, etc.
Other randomness- I never know what'll be on my mind, so if it's something that doesn't fit into the above that doesn't mean I won't post about it. When you've got teenagers in the house, and live and work in the Orlando area at the theme parks, you never know what it might end up being. Who knows, I may even talk about my side job as a photographer at Disney, about the guest that come through, or any of a number of other things. The sky is the limit.
In all cases I welcome your comments, critiques, suggestions, disagreements, and the like. Just because I may not agree doesn't mean I won't be grateful for what you say. And sometimes it's just good to know that people are reading. Let me hear ya! :)
